IPA Flying Fist Craft Beer by Jing A Brewing Co.

Found a great little delicatessen on Kangding Road in Shanghai that served a range of craft beers and wines. It was at the end of a hot, long day - so I went for the beer! The Flying Fist American IPA captured my attention with its great name and label and I’m glad it did - it was great! Flying Fist IPA offered a crisp, dry-hopped burst of fruit fresh. This Jing-A beer is a very balanced IPA, very drinkable with a nice balance of sweetness and hop bitterness. A stand out Chinese IPA! I think I’ll have another one! Rating ★★★★

Great story behind the name Jing A Brewing Co. The name JING-A was chosen because it was an idea that represented China, adventure, starting new and pride. The founders tried to think of a name that would encompass the gritty charm of the Beijing and settled on 京A! The Chinese character 京 means “capital”, and is the mark that can be found at the beginning of all license plates in Beijing. The significance of the “A” is a bit more subtle — when Beijing first began issuing car license plates in the late 90s, the original batch of car owners got plates starting with”京A”. As the city prospered over the next twenty years, additional letters were issued, and now a new car owner is lucky if she can register a 京Q license plate. In this way, 京A has come to represent the original, the old school.
