Young Men Raising Their Flags

propane and The Distrort Pigeons used to practice at the Watson brother’s family home. Two bedrooms were converted into a DIY rehearsal studio and hot sweaty room was a creative melting pot of ideas. Luka was drummer and sound engineer at these sessions and captured a few recording on his portable HD recorder plugged into the mixing desk. Luka was a master multitasker - a skilled drummer and sound engineer at once and this recording is a fine example of what the propane rehearsal session were like at 20 Armstrong Street, Petrie, Qld., Australia.

The Distrort Pigeons started as a pop-rock indie band and here’s one of their earliest recordings. This was recorded at Rochdale at Schlenker Studios and was the band’s first trip to a real recording studio. A tremendous amount of learning occurred from this maiden outing and significant inspiration and creativity soon followed.
