Peter Yealands

Pinot Noir Marlborough 2018

The Experience

The nose was a little unusual, but the the taste and texture was very good and considering the price-point AUD20 - it hits the mark. This Peter Yealands Pinot Noir has a good colour with cherry nose. The palate is balanced with ripe red fruit and soft tannins. Lovely red and I enjoyed the experience on a winters week night in Brisbane. Rating ★★★★

The Producer - Peter Yealands

Peter Yealands is a visionary and a make-it-happen inspiration. Peter Yealands vision is to push boundaries, think innovatively and to produce some of the most exceptional, and sustainable, wines around. This New Zealand sustainable winery opened their doors on 08.08.08, and became the first winery in the world to be CarboNZero™ certified from inception. Seaview Vineyard, the home of Yealands Wines, was once a rugged, rolling stretch of pastoral land, that was thought to be too wild, windswept and undulating for growing grapes. However, Yealands overcame this and has realised the areas potential and today, Seaview Vineyard is one of the most dramatic and exciting vineyards in Marlborough.

Yealands is inspired by the coast that surrounds the vines, so close to the ocean that the vines are often misted with sea spray. The beauty of this environment influences how Yealands crafts wine, respectful of nature and the land. Yealands’ Seaview Vineyard in the Awatere Valley is one of New Zealand’s most coastal vineyards. Yealands believes in sustainable winemaking and creating thoughtfully crafted wines that work in harmony with their landscape.
