The Black Keys - VISUAL ART. Celebrating the music and visual art of The Black Keys. The Black Keys formed in 2001 as a two-piece outfit with Dan Auerbach singing and on guitar and Patrick Carney on drums. I love their rock-blues guitar and solid thumping beats and oh-so-cool dirty rock sound. I’m also a massive fan of their posters, album covers and overall image and this post celebrate the coolest band!

Idles
This is an expose of IDLES VISUALS - posters, photos, fan art and album covers. IDLES music is awesome! The way they manage to capture energy on their recording, is unique for this era… you have to go way back to 60s, when recording were done in one room, with all the musicians playing at the same time, doing one take, on a four-track recorder to feel the same kind of energy. lIDLES’ music could be classified as punk…. primarily because of the energy and attitude…. but the musical style in not punk. The band formed in 2009 and the IDLES’ first release was the Welcome EP in 2012. Since then the have released Brutalism (2016); Joy as an Act of Resistance (2018) and Ultra Mono (2020).

Recorded in October 2019 in the intimate surroundings of The Ritz in Manchester, the album includes acoustic versions of tracks from ‘Giants of All Sizes’ alongside older favourites. ★★★★

Hamilton Leithauser
Great album from Hamilton Leithauser - The Loves of Your Life. Such an amazing talent is Hamilton Leithauser, with brilliant vocals - so unique and expressive. The instrumentation on The Loves of Your Life is exquisite, well balance and earthy. Rating ★★★★
Rex Orange County ~ Pony
PONY is a really pleasant album from Rex Orange County. 10 songs with a total running time of 34 minutes… classic pop! Released in 2019 this cool bunch of tunes features bright keys, gentle rhythms and excellent vocals arrangement. Rating ★★★★
Bombay Bicycle Club
Bombay Bicycle Club‘s 2020 album ‘Everything Else Has Gone Wrong’ is great! It features cool guitar sounds, riffs and arrangements that are paired wonderfully with the Bombay's terrific blend of vocals and synthesizers. On-Point rhythms and first class studio production earns a GOLD STAR from me, especially when I enjoyed this album through quality speaker and cans. This album is majestic, uplifting and hopeful with great pulsating and tight rhythm. Wonderful! Uplifting! Sonically rich! Glorious and magical. Rating ★★★★★
Sebadoh ~ Defend Yourself ~ 2013
Sebadoh’s Defend Yourself is a great indie album. It’s a warm album that rolls along nicely when you are at your desk at work or writing an assignment for college. This ain’t no party starter… just a solid cool indie album from one of the coolest band ever. I love SEBADOH and this album get high rotation in my remote-office. The fuzzy low-fi guitar and “real” drums make me feel warm and like the Sebadah lads are still that cool new band I just discovered im 1991 and I want to see them play live… because they are so cool. Rating ★★★ —— so cool and so indie!

Post Malone
Album of the Week Post Malone - Hollywood's Bleeding ★★★★★ Hollywood Bleeding is a great album with so many great songs that sit so well together. Excellent dynamics, hooks, beats and the melodies are fantastic. Post Malone vocals are uncannily amazing - he can sing, howl, croon and dance from falsetto to quavering to stadium declarations effortlessly. Post Malone is now - the sounds, production and content of each tune takes the best parts on what is on offer now from different genres. Best Tracks: A Thousand Bad Times, Circles, Staring at the Sun, Sunflower, Goodbyes and Allergic. Album of the Week Ode to Joy by Wilco ★★★★ Gentle, rich, steady and very Wilco! Wilco strip everything down to the bare essentials on Ode to Joy and have produced a wonderful low-key collection of quality and largely skeletal tunes. Ode to Joy is a beautiful album that takes a few listens to get into it, but it is 100% worth it. Ode to Joy – Wilco’s 11th studio album - 11 songs written and produced by Jeff Tweedy and recorded by Wilco at The Loft (Chicago, IL) in January 2019. Stand out tracks: Everyone Hides, Love Is Everywhere (Beware) and Hold Me Anyway.
